Background
The Kemerton plant occupies a 55-hectare site shared with satellite plants supplying raw materials such as chlorine, caustic soda, oxygen and nitrogen. It produces titanium dioxide through the chloride process, using chlorine to react with titanium-bearing ores from the south-west of Western Australia.
Solution
GRP made a chemical tank 3.6 m in diameter and 3.8 m high, using resins selected to resist caustic soda. It was successfully installed in February 2017.
